Stephanie Lynn May was born and raised in San Angelo, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin for college, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Stephanie earned her law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. During law school, she was a criminal law clerk for the Law Office of Edward F. Shaughnessy, III. She also held an internship with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, Texas where she assisted the Courts’ staff attorneys with death penalty cases, writs of habeas corpus, and petitions for discretionary review.
